Board of Non-Directors: Splinter Group's only official governing body, comprised of all interested members who attend the annual meeting, typically in January. Any member can attend, and every member has equal say in what transpires at the meeting. Every effort is made to make decisions by consensus. The purpose is to discuss where Splinter Group wants to go during the upcoming year. After discussing any issues of policy, we propose and select new meeting topics and hosts for the next twelve to fifteen months.

Steering Committee: A smaller self-selected group charged with setting up the website and its policies, improving the email announcement system, determining sponsorship policies, reviewing use of Splinter Group information by outsiders, and assisting the dinner- meeting hosts with their arrangements.

Sliver Groups: Smaller, round table discussion groups formed to pursue topics of specific interest. Anyone can announce and organize a "Sliver Group" at anytime on any topic he/she finds interesting or appropriate. These groups meet separately and independently.
